Q1) What is the Singapore Aerospace Award (SAA) and what are the objectives?
Ans: SAA is an award designed to honour outstanding companies in the aerospace industry. The objectives in having the SAA is to celebrate the achievements of companies in the Singapore Aerospace Industry in key areas of innovation, technology adoption, workforce development, safety, and fastest growth etc.
Q2) How many awards are available for SAA?
Ans: There are 5 awards available for SAA.
Q3) What are the participation criteria for SAA?
Ans: Companies must have at least 25% of their revenues originating from aerospace work to be eligible to participate.
Q4) How can my company benefit from participating in SAA?
Ans: The SAA is the first such awards in Singapore promoting and recognizing the excellence of local industry players. Supported by all the key government agencies and regulatory authority, the Awards will bring prestige to the winner, who will be recognized for its contributions to the Singapore aerospace industry, and undeniably its status as a key organization in the industry.
Q5) Which award category should my company enter for? Is there a limit for the number of categories a company can be nominated?
Ans: Applicants will be considered for all applicable award categories. The SAA secretariat will conduct an interview covering all aspects of the various awards, and identify the relevant categories the company can be nominated for.
Q6) How much is the participation fees for the SAA? Is there any other costs?
Ans: The fees are all found in the SAA brochure. There is a nominal participation fee, followed by a nomination fee for companies that are selected for nomination for a particular award.
Q7) When will the winners for SAA be announced?
Ans: The winners for the SAA will be announced during the dinner that will be held on 29th May, which is on the last evening of the ASX.
Q8) Who are on the judging panel? What will be the judging process and how long will it take?
Ans: Appointed consultants will conduct primary and secondary research as well as possible interviews with companies to identify a list of candidates for nomination. Upon submission of their nomination forms, a Judging Committee comprising of key individuals in the industry and agencies will deliberate on the winner for each category. It will take a minimum of 19 weeks from submission of participation form to emergence of the winner.
Q9) Who are the sponsors / partners for SAA?
Ans: SAA is supported by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), IE Singapore, SPRING Singapore, Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSH) to recognise the contributions by companies in the Singapore aerospace industry and their outstanding achievements.
Q10) What does the SAA logo represent?
Ans: The SAA logo represents the structure of an aircraft that is make up of many components, that includes all the stakeholders of the aerospace value chain.
